Once you’ve enjoyed your Halloween celebrations this year please help us to recycle any of your pumpkins in your food waste bins where you have them – an incredible 18,000 tonnes of pumpkins are thrown away each year and recycling just 1 pumpkin can produce enough energy to boil a kettle fives times!
A string of local authorities has taken to social media to urge residents to ensure pumpkins are put into food waste bins.
