Last Friday the UK achieved a record 87.2% of its electricity generation from zero-carbon sources. This is an impressive figure and we’re very pleased to have played our part in that through our anaerobic digestion plants, wind, solar and hydro electricity assets. The challenge now is to be able to sustain that level in the UK but without so much reliance on windy days. So we need to continue investing in both base-load renewable energy generation that can run 24/7 as well as energy storage.
