Severn Trent Green Power Ardley IVC Facility

Our Ardley IVC facility is home to our long term contract with Oxfordshire County Council.

The plant can process up to 35,000 tonnes of organic waste per year, and has strong environment credentials. The plant's IVC tunnels are constructed from a unique gore membrane that reduces the plant power requirements to approximately one third of those needed by conventional plants.

The facility can accept source segregated commingled food and garden waste. The site diverts organic waste from landfill and produces a valuable organic compost fertiliser. Wastes that can be treated in the facility include:

  • Source segregated green garden waste
A very wide spectrum of green waste can be processed including plant cuttings, weeds, grass and hedge cuttings, cut flowers, and branches no larger than 7.5cm in diameter. We are unable to accept Japanese knotweed, ragwort, soil and treated wood.
  • Source segregated commingled food and green waste
All raw and cooked food waste commingled with green garden waste.

Our compost products meet strict feedstock and end product specifications and are suitable for use on organic farms. They are currently sold in bulk quantities of 100 tonnes or more.
