ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager for South Wales and Midlands, along with site Managers for day-to-day operations, this mobile hands-on role, covering two sites requires the daily operation and maintenance of plant and machinery. Working within the reception building or outside moving the product through its various stages, which will require you to use plant machinery including telehandler, loading shovel, shredder and screener.

This full-time role will be based from either West Birmingham AD , Kinver, Stourbridge or East Birmingham Coleshill, with duties equally distributed through the week covering both sites. The core hours are 07.00 – 17.00 Monday – Friday. You will also be part of a rolling standby night rota covering 1 week in 3 or 4.

Role Objective:

The role of the Gas to Grid Technician is to specialise in the operation, maintenance, optimisation, servicing & fault rectification of the Bio Gas to Grid Plants across the STGP business. In addition you will develop, own & deliver maintenance plans & agreements associated with the gas to grid plants and ancillary equipment so as to minimize disruption & asset down time.

You will be responsible for providing excellent technical knowledge & advice of how the Biomethane upgrading plants operate and will be required to work on methane gas & air systems with pressures up to 20 bar.

You will produce associated data & information related to plant performance, interpret & analyse that data and provide advice, recommendations & solutions based on your analysis so as to drive & deliver maximum, sustained output & performance of each plant as well as supporting capital investment proposals.

To produce MI & KPI reports related to the gas to grid equipment.

You will be the interface between the AD Plant Staff, Operations Team and OEM support for all existing and future Gas to Grid plant installations.

You will also be the interface between the CHP O&M team for the 4 existing Gas to Grid biogas plants to drive and deliver maximum sustained output & performance of each plant.

ROLE SUMMARY

Pivotal to the success of STGP is the growth of its Local Authority customer base which will be achieved by the outputs from a pro-active and effective Public Sector Business Development function. This role sits within the Public Sector Business Development Team and will successfully contribute to the STGP growth strategy and delivery of targets to increase revenue, market share and customer loyalty through effective and professional business development, bid and sales execution.

You will also work closely with and report to the Senior BDM and Public Sector Lead to shape the market, gain early market intelligence, set and deliver market development plans to ensure STGP capabilities and services remain at the leading edge.

ROLE SUMMARY

Pivotal to the success of STGP is the growth of its Local Authority customer base which will be achieved by the outputs from a pro-active and effective Public Sector Business Development function. This role sits within the Public Sector Business Development Team and will involve opportunity planning and targeting activities, organising pro-active engagement with Local Authorities and also the preparation and submission of proposals and tender documents.

The need for a well-managed, performing business development function within STGP is of heightened importance given the impending requirements of the Environment Bill that will oblige all English Local Authorities to collect food waste separately. This will create significant opportunities for STGP and its long-term future.

ROLE SUMMARY

  • Effective and economic procurement of food wastes.
  • Initiate contact with prospective decision makers by cold calling, meeting and qualification, and ensuring pipeline is up to date and sufficient to achieve feedstock volume targets.
  • Collection of feedstock samples when required and arranging for test analysis.
  • Drive operational excellence through close collaboration with internal operations and external haulage partners, to facilitate efficient means of food waste storage, transport, and recycling solutions for new food waste streams.
  • Secure meetings to facilitate sales, identify solutions with customers embedded at the heart of what we do; preparing proposals, responding to tenders (with support of tenders team), creation of pricing strategies.
  • Coordinating paperwork such as waste transfer notes, pre-acceptance agreements, and contracts.
  • Manage and develop customer relationships within secured customer base and pipeline.
  • To actively raise the profile and awareness of the Green Power brand within the given target audience.
  • Hosting customer visits and tours of operating plants.
  • Assist in PR and marketing exhibitions where required.
  • Continue Personal Development and keep up-to-date with relevant legislation.
  • Any other task as reasonably requested by Senior Management.

This full-time role will be based from Cassington AD, with duties equally distributed through the week covering Wallingford AD (Benson) and Ardley IVC (Ardley nr Bicester)

The core hours are 07.00 – 17.00 Monday – Friday, with weekends and bank holidays on rota basis.
